Bed Bug Treatment Preparation
- Remove all bedding and linens from all mattresses/box springs and wash in them in the hottest water possible. Remove all items from underneath bed.
- Mattresses and box springs should be discarded if they are heavily infested. If the mattress is being treated, it should be covered afterwards with zip-up mattress cover which can be purchased locally or directly from us.
- Sofas, chairs (if slept on) must be stripped as well and linens washed in the hottest water possible.
- Empty all drawers and closets. Wash all clothing in the hottest water possible and place in them in new, clean plastic bags until treatment is rendered. Do this only if you choose to do your laundry before we treat.
- If laundry is done after the treatment, all bags must remain sealed tightly until washed and brought back in new, clean plastic bags.
Remember: Throw away old/used bags and use clean, new bags to place cleaned laundry in when bringing them home.
- Place all furniture away from the walls to give us access to treat all areas.
- Remove all hanging pictures from walls, vacuum back and place them in one area of your home for treatment.
- Vacuum entire house prior to service and take vacuum cleaner outside to empty and throw away bag.
- Do not use your own chemical over ours to treat.
Please remember that all occupants must remain out of the treated area for approximately 4 hours after the treatment is completed, or until all treated surfaces are dry. If you have asthma or any other breathing problems, you may want to leave for 24 hours. Do not walk on floors barefoot or lie on your bare mattress until material is dry. After all the material has dried, you may put clean sheets on your mattress.
Bed Bugs can be difficult to eliminate and, depending on the severity of the infestation, a follow-up appointment may be necessary. Our technician will advise you of this after seeing the level of infestation. |
